Trim Levels
The Edge comes in five trim levels, so you can customize your ride as you see fit. The standard SE trim already has enticing exterior features such as LED daytime running lights, headlights, and taillights along with active grille shutters and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels. The SEL pushes things further with power outboard mirrors.
More serious upgrades begin at the ST-Line trim level, which sports gloss-black 20-inch wheels and redesigned front and rear lower fascias. Upgrade to the Titanium, and you get a hands-free power liftgate with the Elite package alongside 20-inch alloy wheels. The ultimate trim level is the ST, which is a sportier version of the Edge with performance styling, including a dual-tip exhaust and enhanced lower-body cladding. Plus, you get fog lights.
Engine
Two engines options are available for the new Ford Edge, and they pack a serious punch. The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 250 horsepower with 280 pound-feet of torque. While that's already an impressive amount of power, the twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 pushes it even further. Exclusive to the ST trim, this more powerful engine offers an astounding 335 horsepower with 380 pound-feet of torque. Plus, the EcoBoost engineering maintains efficiency without sacrificing power.
Performance
When you get behind the wheel of the Edge, one of the most important things you'll notice is just how easy it is to control. The retuned chassis on the 2023 edition makes cornering a breeze, and you can opt for a Sport Mode setting that will push performance to the absolute limit. Of course, you can easily toggle the Sport Mode off if you're embarking on a drive where efficiency matters more.
Interior
Inside the Ford Edge is a comfortable and roomy interior with plenty of room for cargo and passengers alike. If you fold the rear seats down, you get an incredible 73.4 cubic feet of space, but having passengers in each of the available seats will still leave you with 39.2 cubic feet of space to work with. The integrated tech is impressive too, as it includes a 12-inch touchscreen interface from which you can access the SYNC 4A advanced software system.
Safety Features
Safety is the most important factor in any vehicle, and the Ford Co-Pilot360 system offers a variety of features that work together to keep you safe. Among these, you'll find a lane-keeping assist function, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. Optional upgrades include evasive steering assist, which steers you around another vehicle if a collision seems likely, and adaptive cruise control, which helps you maintain a safe space cushion when cruising.
