The Ranger is Ford’s mid-size pickup truck that offers ample power from its turbocharged powertrain and a capable off-roading package. It can also double as a comfortable people mover, especially in its SuperCrew form, with spacious seating for up to five occupants. Here’s your quick and handy guide to the 2023 Ford Ranger!

Power and Handling

The Ranger is equipped with a powerful 2.3L EcoBoost inline-4 engine with twin-scroll turbocharging, which quickens response by effectively eliminating turbo lag. It provides some of the best performance in the truck’s class with its 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. With the help of Ford’s 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission featuring three overdrive gears, the Ranger promises quick acceleration and plenty of grunt for hauling.
As with any Ford truck, you can expect a well-tuned suspension that achieves excellent off-road performance. Not only is the Ranger available with all-wheel drive and the Terrain Management System with multiple drive modes, but it also provides the option of the FX4 Off-Road Package. When selected, this package adds a more aggressive off-road suspension, a durable skid plate, and an electronic-locking rear differential that improves traction.

Towing and Hauling

Using its Class IV hitch, the Ranger’s Trailer Tow Package can enable the truck to tow up to 7,500 pounds or well over 1,800 pounds of payload within the truck bed. There’s also the 4/7-pin connector that makes it easy to hook up trailer lights and other equipment. A 12-volt power plug and a drop-in bedliner for added protection are offered by the Bed Utility Package. SuperCabs have the largest beds at six feet in length and 51.8 cubic feet of space.

Interior

While the SuperCab has enough space for up to four people, the five-seat SuperCrew provides even more room with its nearly 40 inches of front and rear headroom and 34.5 inches of rear legroom. The Ranger’s modern dashboard features high-quality materials and easy-to-use controls. In addition to dual-zone automatic climate control and leather or vinyl seats, the Lariat offers seating with Miko suede inserts, accent stitching, and ambient lighting.
A large, hidden storage compartment can be found under the rear bench seat in SuperCrew models.

Infotainment

The Ranger is available with a user-friendly, responsive SYNC 3 infotainment system and an 8-inch touchscreen display. It supports smartphone integration for iOS and Android devices, SiriusXM satellite radio, and intuitive voice commands. Up to 10 devices can access the internet while on the go since all trims can utilize the FordPass Connect 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Truly impressive sound comes from the available 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system.

The latest iteration of Ford’s Ranger continues to be a top choice when it comes to an affordable yet feature-laden mid-sized truck. Schedule your test drive with the 2023 model by contacting Bill McCandless Ford today!
